Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) for B.Ed – NIOS What is NIOS B.ED Bridge Course (PDPET) –NIOS Bridge Course (PDPET) programme is a specifically designed course for in-service untrained teachers working in primary/ upper primary schools (1 to 5 class) in Government & Non-Government School Teacher in all over the India. The programme has been developed by the Academic Department, NIOS on the initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. Of India, keeping in view the NCF 2005, RTE 2009 and NCFTE 2010. The Programme aims at enabling the target group to develop in them skills, competencies, attitudes and understanding to make teaching and learning more effective. NIOS B.ED Bridge Course (PDPET) has developed by NIOS for those teachers who have B.Ed degree and wants to teach in primary schools (1st to 5th class).Why it is important & for WhomThe State education department has clarified that all such candidates who are teaching primary classes and have Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree but don’t possess necessary Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) to teach primary classes, must have to undergo a six month bridge course offered by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

The department has made it clear that untrained teachers in primary education would not be kept in service after March 2019.These teachers should register on the website of the NIOS (nios.ac.in). This course is completely valid by HRD ministry and NCTE also.
Course DurationNIOS B.ED Bridge Course (PDPET) programme duration is 6 months. Course FeeThe fee for the bridge course is Rs 5000 and exam fee is Rs. 250 per paper Eligibility Required. The Teacher should be an in-service elementary teacher. The Teacher should be Graduate with B.Ed.
